7th Annual West Fargo Parks Dog Show brought crowds!

It’s amazing how many little community events go on during the summer. I have been in Fargo since 2007 and I am always finding something new to attend.

Yesterday I went to the 7th Annual West Fargo Parks Dog Show!

It was a beautiful evening and a good turn out at the North Elmwood Park in West Fargo last night. People and dogs scattered around the park looking at vendor booths and practicing tricks for the show.

Dogs were judged and awarded for best dressed, best tricks, and  best groomed as well as the most unusual breed, cutest puppy, owner/dog look-alike contest, and the best of show. Registration for the show was free and took place from 5-6pm. The actual show started at 6:15pm and went until 7:30pm. A Search and Rescue demo took place at 5:30pm (I sadly missed the demo so don’t have any pictures from that). A list of the winners from last nights show can be found in this article by the West Fargo Pioneer.

But there was more to do than just show off your family pooch, a number of area pet businesses had informational booths set up, many with free treat or toy samples. Vendors included everything from local dog boarding businesses and shelters to independant design businesses for jewlery and dog collars.

A few of the vendors that I visited with were Natural Pet Center, Homeward Animal Shelter (otherwise known as the Fargo-Moorhead Humane Society), DogIDS, Ragom Golden Retriever Rescue, Minnesota Sheltie Rescue, JuJu Belle, Rover’s Playhouse, Sheyenne River Kennels, Chaising Tails, and 4 Luv of Dog Rescue. Shaggy’s Self Serve Dog Wash & Grooming and several other vendors that I wasn’t able to visit with also had booths at the show.

A free will donation food table was also set up with hotdogs and  beverages throughout the show.

It was a fun evening and I hope to setup a vendor booth of my own for “Hillier’s Critter Sitting“, my petsitting business, at next year’s West Fargo Parks Dog Show!
